    Founded in 1840, St. Joseph's Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school with one of the most accomplished soccer programs in Missouri. The Angels won their first state title in 1990 and have claimed eight state championships (1990, 1992, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2014, 2025), including a stretch of four titles in five years capped by the 2002 crown, which earned them a unanimous No. 1 national ranking from the National Soccer Coaches of America. Head coach Maureen McVey led six of those title-winning teams and was named National Soccer Coach of the Year. For 30 years, St. Joseph's competed in the Metro Women's Athletics Association (MWAA), one of the most competitive all-girls conferences in the nation. In 2023, the MWAA was succeeded by the Girls Independent Schools League (GISL), where the Angels now compete alongside rivals Cor Jesu, Nerinx Hall, Visitation, Villa Duchesne, and others. Located in Frontenac in west St. Louis County, the Angels play their home matches on the school's campus off South Lindbergh Boulevard.
