The Saint Louis University men's soccer program is the most decorated in NCAA Division I history. The Billikens first fielded a varsity team in 1959 and promptly won the inaugural NCAA soccer championship that same year. Over the next 15 seasons, SLU claimed ten national titles (1959, 1960, 1962, 1963, 1965, 1967, 1969, 1970, 1972, 1973)—a record that still stands—under coaches Bob Guelker and Harry Keough, who led five championship teams apiece. The program has continued to compete at a high level in the decades since, making 52 NCAA Tournament appearances and capturing five Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament titles. In 2025, the Billikens reached the College Cup semifinals for the first time since 1997. SLU's primary rival is SIUE, with the two programs historically contesting the Bronze Boot trophy. The Billikens currently compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference and play their home matches at Robert R. Hermann Stadium, a 6,050-seat soccer-specific venue on the university's midtown St. Louis campus.
