Saint Louis FC was founded in 2014 as a professional soccer club in the USL Championship and began play in 2015. During their first two seasons, the club operated as an affiliate of Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire, allowing for player development between the two organizations. Their primary rivalry was with Louisville City FC, with the two clubs competing annually for the Kings' Cup trophy. The St. Louligans served as the main supporters group, bringing energy and atmosphere to home matches. Those home games were played at West Community Stadium, a soccer-specific venue located within Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri.
